Full description
The C-22-A was a Boeing 727-100 and the C-22-B was a Boeing 727-200 aircraft. These were converted Boeing 727 Whisperjet Airliners for military use. Communications were enhanced and certain other military requirements were added to the aircraft to allow them to operate in a military environment. These were used for medium to short distance medium loads of personnel and or material to and from bases. These aircraft have been in service since the 1960s. However as these aircraft have aged and their sister aircraft have been gradually and almost completely retired, replacement parts are becoming a difficult and expensive problem. Additionally the JT8D engines are now well beyond obsolescence and are no longer economical either in fuel cost or in maintenance. There are a great many JT8ds still available as it is used on DC-9 aircraft still flying in many airline inventories but these too have numbered days. The C-22-A and B have served the USAF for the past 50 years delivering people and materials to locations all over the world.

This model is built fully-textured and near to scale. It includes the livery or paint scheme as shown. All materials and textures are included as shown here.
