Full description
The DC-9-10 was the first and smallest of the DC-9 family built by Douglas Aircraft. It was designed and developed as a short haul airliner developed to replace older passenger aircraft like Convair 440 and Martin 404. It was popular around the world with many airlines. They were economical and fast. Carrying up to 60 passengers they easily carried more passengers than the earlier twin engine piston airliners. Passengers were relieved by a noise reduction compared to the older propeller passenger airliners and the seating and cabins were more modern and comfortable. Maintenance was also less costly and the aircraft were more efficient. The -20 series used the larger wing of the series -30 through -50 and the fuselage and cabin from the series -10. Initially these were ordered by SAS. They were successful and have been sold and leased to other airlines. These aircraft were better performing in short field operations and short haul operations.

Series 20s had a wingspan of 93 feet and a length of 104.4 feet. It was powered by two JT8D-11 jet engines. It was certificated for a MTOW of 98000 pounds. It first flew in 1968.

These models are built near to scale and fully textured. The animateable features included are: ailerons, flaps, rudder, stabilizer, elevators, landing gear retraction, landing gear doors and turbines.
