It also is designed to used an aircraft or automobile engine driving an aircraft pusher type propeller so that there is no impact on the displacement of the water and higher speeds can be reached.The flat hull allows the boat to skim across the surface of the water further reducing the displacement.Because of this minimal displacement the air boat is a practical boat for swampy areas, wetlands and large fields of swapy saw grass.

It is used by fisherman, hunters, law enforcement and rescue personnel in shallow waters and swampy areas. The boast are also modified for special use such as rescue, ambulance, law enforcement and sports.
