The box should be 10 long 10, wide and 10 high. It should have 1 segment in each direction. See Fig 1-1 Fig 1-1 Box is placed in scene as specified Select the Modify Tab Click on the Modifier List pull down and the click on edit mesh Click on the edges selection See Fig 1-2 Fig 1-2 Edit Geometry and edges is selected Select the edges on the box you wish to chamfer. See Fig 1-3 Fig 1-3 Top Edges and side edges selected Under the Edit Geometry Menu, click on the chamfer button. Then set the amount of chamfer distance. I used 1.5 for this tutorial. *** Micro Beginner Tutorial: Chamfering Edges ***

Chamfering Edges

Start 3ds Max and build a box in the top view. The box should be 10 long 10, wide and 10 high. It should have 1 segment in each direction. See Fig 1-1

Box is placed in scene as specified

Select the Modify Tab

Click on the Modifier List pull down and the click on edit mesh

Click on the edges selection See Fig 1-2

Edit Geometry and edges is selected

Select the edges on the box you wish to chamfer. See Fig 1-3

Top Edges and side edges selected

Under the Edit Geometry Menu, click on the chamfer button. Then set the amount of chamfer distance. I used 1.5 for this tutorial. See the result in Fig 1-4.
