Full description
An accurately scaled and modeled low polygon M777 lightweight 155mm howitzer. With a polygon count of just 1700, or 3090 tris, this model has been professionally developed for simulation and game use. It is properly uv mapped and fully textured using one 2048 x 2048 TGA with integrated alpha channel to provide opacity. The texture could easily be re-sized to 1024 x 1024 without loss of detail, if required. The model is positioned in both ready-fire and transportation position.

This model is available here in .3ds, .fbx, .flt, .lwo v 6.0, .max v 2008, and .obj formats.

The M777 is the primary 155mm howitzer in the United States Army, Marines, as well as the Canadian Army. The Australian army is in the process of acquiring it. It was first used in combat in 2006 by the Canadian Army and since then has been put to successful use in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Using lightweight materials the M777 is 42% lighter than its predecessor, allowing it to be moved in and out of the battlefield more quickly. It is capable of firing a conventional round 24 kilometers, or a GPS-Guided Excalibur round up to 40 kilometers.
