Need an entire asteroid field created in minutes? This script has created 10,000 and can create up to 1,000,000 unique, skinned, rigged, animated, uvw mapped and textured asteroid objects in a single run.
Using the in-viewport, rotatable preview created by the script, adjustable parameters allow you to create a seed by which your asteroids will be modeled. Material presets are automatically created and changing the diffuse texture/displacement maps are as simple as drag/drop your own images into the image directory.
Maxscript confirmed compatible with these 3ds max versions: 2011, 2012 and 2013 32bit and 64bit. To use this utility, you can access it from the 3ds max "MAXScript Menu" under the "Run" command, launching it from wherever you have unzipped it.

To aid in quickly swapping maps, I've written and included 2 standalone executables, one for the bulk renaming of any file type and the other for bulk resizing of supported image types. Version 2 of the latter will see bulk image format conversions to easily generate images in the .tga format that this script requires. That tool will be free so be sure to check back often.
