Easy and fast solution for denoise photos without denoising software
This photo editing process describes fast, costless way to denoise photos for all photographers and designers. Usually there is one way in minds of most photographers when denoising images comes as problem. And that is using some software with such option. This example will show that there is not always need for such software and that it is possible to do in photo editing software as Photoshop or Gimp.
Using your standard workflow which you are used to, when finished basic tweaks on some photograph you come up with some unwanted noise. Here are steps how to denoise your photograph:
1. Duplicate your photograph to new layer
2. Select upper layer on layers window
3. Decompose your selected layer to LAB
4. For L layer use despeckle filter
5. For A layer use gaussian blur 3-7
6. For B layer use gaussian blur 3-7
7. Recompose your LAB layers back
8. Set upper layer opacity to 80
9. Flatten two layers
You are finished with having very natural look of your photograph with no noise. Photograph showing before (right side) and after (left side) appearance for this process.
I am working with my friend who is a specialist in C/C++ to make a plug-in for Gimp and Photoshop which will use this process to automatically denoise images with giving users freedom of tweaking volume and parameters of denoising.
