Carrara Marble was regularly used in Ancient Roman Empire Era, but was called Luni Marble, after the town near Carrara [Luna], where the marble blocks and slabs were stored, before leaving for Rome or other towns.
Most of the Monuments, Temples and Buildings in Ancient Rome were built with the Carrara Marble type, called and known as Luni marble.
